Mixed Native Hedgerow Collections
***All Varieties Now Out Of Stock***
| Our native trees and shrubs for
hedgerow and woodland planting have been grown in individual cells
         so
that they can be planted all year round unlike bare root hedging
which can only be planted over winter.  It also means that they are
quick and easy to re-plant and have the advantage of a healthy undamaged
root system.  This enables them to grow away with minimum stress.
Mixed native hedges provide a rich habitat for wildlife. Even if you only have a small garden, a native hedge can provide shelter and food for a wide variety of insects, birds and mammals. It can also provide year round interest with its' seeds/berries, leaves and flowers. A native hedge can be kept to a formal shape if clipped regularly or it can be left to have a wilder look. You can select one of the collections below for example the Thornless Hedge collection if you have young children or a Security Hedge collection if you want to deter unwanted guests! Or you can create your own collection or a single species hedge by selecting varieties from the Individual Native Hedgerow Species page. You may also like to consider adding Individual Tree Species and leaving them to grow to their full height to add interest and diversity to your hedge. The recommended number of plants per metre is: Single Row - 4 plants; Double Row - 5 plants staggered.
